Van Langdon Obituary

Van Thomas Langdon, 71, of Cumming passed away Nov. 14, 2010. Born in San Pedro, Calif., he was the son of the late Van Langdon and Jennie Mershon. Van was an alumni of Virginia Military Institute and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He retired as an engineering designer. Van was an avid sports fan and hunter who loved to read and was a history buff.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeri C. Langdon of Cumming; daughter, Laurie Love of Atlanta; son, John Paul Langdon of Atlanta; stepfather, William Randall Mershon of Portsmouth, R.I.; sister, Diana Langdon of West Warwick, R.I.; and brother, Victor Langdon of Thailand.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 20, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org or to any veterans' organization.
Condolences may be expressed online at www.mcdonaldandson.com.
McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
