She was born December 24, 1915 in Hays, Kansas, to Alex and Magoalena (Gabel) Stecklein. Goldie's parents moved the family to Comptan, CA, where she attended school until the fourth grade. They then moved to Cortez, CO, and then to Fort Morgan when she was 16 years old.
On May 4, 1935, she married Alexander Propp. They lived at the same residence for 52 years. She and Alex decorated their home every year for Christmas with decorations that lit up the whole street. They won many first places throughout their years of decorating. She lived in her current home for more than 14 years until she had to enter the nursing home.
Goldie's family was very important to her. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also helped her neighbors whenever she was needed. She loved working in her yard. Goldie was also quite a dancer from the time that she was young until she was in her 80's. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Brush where she made many friends. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bill) Brownlee of Akron; her son-in-law, Ernest Hamann of Fort Morgan; her grandchildren, Cathy (Anthony) Banuelos of Fort Morgan, Rodney (Kerri) Hamann of Morrison, CO, Patty (Fazil) Brownlee-Cakmak of Belmont, MA, and Bill (Jeanne) Brownlee of Peoria, AZ; and her great-grandchildren, Belinda and Emelio Banuelos of Fort Morgan, Quinn and Kole Hamann of Morrison, CO, Alex and Jenna Brownlee of Peoria, AZ, and Neyla Cakmak of Belmont, MA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Benard and Robert; her sisters, Alvina and Betty; her husband, Alex; her daughter, Dolores Hamann; and her granddaughter, Pamela Sue Brownlee.
