Merry Wernsmann Obituary

Merry Angelita Wernsmann died Feb. 15, 2016, in the Bahamas with her husband, Richard Wernsmann. She was born Feb. 12, 1944, in McCook, Neb. Her parents were Clarence Cappel, Lavonne Cappel Waterman and Glenn Waterman. Over the years, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, bull hauler and church secretary. Merry enjoyed gardening, sewing, photography, travel and most of all, her faith in God, who was her Lord and Savior. She was very involved in many ministries at the Summit Baptist Church. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the air she breathed. She is survived by her husband, Richard, children, Kim Surber, Mac Parsons, Roman Parsons, Thorpe Parsons, Paula Carlson and Rick Wernsmann; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved; siblings Patty Heintz, Linda Neil, Dennis Cappel, Larry Cappel, Terry Mallary, Sherry Cappel, Jerry Cappel and Carrie Cappel. Merry was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Vickie Skinner and Jeff Cappel. A celebration of Merry's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Summit Baptist Church in Wiggins.
