BERTHA DAGER Obituary

BERTHA ROSE (SCHMIDT) DAGER, 89, a resident of New Haven, Ind. in recent years and a former resident of Tillman, Ind. (rural Monroeville) for many years, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living Facility located in Fort Wayne, Ind. Born on Tuesday, March 10, 1931 in Allen County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Lena Schmidt. She married the late Willis N. Dager on Sept. 16, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne. Bertha graduated from North Side High School class of 1949, was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Monroeville, Ind., and enjoyed hobbies such as cake decorating, puzzles, sewing, gardening and various crafting activities. Bertha worked as a sales associate at several local retail locations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her three beautiful children, daughter, Eveann Werker of Fort Wayne; son, Jeffrey Dager of New Haven; and daughter, Debra (Orville, Jr.) Smith of New Haven. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Angela (Quinn) Cunningham, Tisha (James) Dykes, Jessica (Patrick) Craig, Andrea Dager, Eric Smith & Bryanna Dager; and five great-grandchildren, Rayleen, Braden, Kira, Teagan and Brylee. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Willis N. Dager; her brother, Walter Schmidt; and son-in-law, Rex Werker. Private funeral services will be held by the immediate family only at Harper's Community Funeral Home in New Haven, Ind. Interment will be located at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, Ind. I looked up my name in google and this popped up she was my great-grandma and she was so nice she had a forgetful mind sometimes but i don't have many memories with her as i was always traveling with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. When she died i was in denial till we got to the service she will always have a spot in my mind.
