CARRIE ABERNATHY, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Born Jan. 7, 1941 in Coy, Ala., Carrie was a daughter of the late Stratman Kelsaw and Martha Goode Kelsaw. Carrie was a graduate of Camden Academy in 1960. Carrie has four children: daughter, Jennifer Abernathy; sons, Sheldon Abernathy, William "Dewey" Abernathy Jr. and Sean (Gwen) Abernathy; grandchildren, Damone Abernathy, Lamar Abernathy, Brian Abernathy, Sean Abernathy Jr., Keyashia Arrington, and Jone Fowlkes; and nine great- grandchildren. Arrangements by Community Funeral Care - Carmichael Chapel.

Mrs. Abernathy was such a sweet lady! I will never forget her smile and the way she interacted so kindly with my mother and me. Such a terrible loss. Condolences to the family.
