I met Charlie at a Notre Dame vs USC game in Los Angeles one Thanksgiving weekend many years ago. It wasn't hard to figure out that he was probably the most enthusiastic fan the ND team ever had. He was decked out in the ND green (he wore this great ND beret)and was thrilled to be a part of the festivities, thanks to his brother-in-law, Jim Greene. It also was apparent that Charlie was a happy man and easily spread that happiness.
From the Lucier family (his wife Paula's relatives), please accept our sincere condolences.

Charlie always made me smile. I enjoyed his wit and enthusiasm for life. I can picture Paula and Charlie sharing a beer in heaven. They are bickering and enjoying every minute. You all have my sympathy for your loss.
