David Portman Obituary

DAVID LEE PORTMAN, 75, of Arkansas, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005. He was a 1948 graduate of Woodburn High School; graduate in Mechanical Technology from Purdue Technical Institute, Fort Wayne, in June of 1950. He was drafted in the U.S. Army, in 1951, and served 11 months in Korea from May 30, 1952 to May 6, 1953 as a Sergeant E-5. He received his B.S. degree from Purdue University, in Mechanical Engineering, in 1957. He was a partner with Industry General Corporation, Memphis, from 1972 until his retirement to Fairfield Bay, Ark., in 1996. He as a Professional Engineer, registered in about 30 states. Surviving are wife, Kay Andries (Holterman) Portman; sons, James David Portman and Erik Portman; daughter, Marcella Van Camp; mother, Ruth Portman; brother, Stanley Portman; sister, Lois Evelyn Windemuth; granddaughter, Marie Van Camp; two nieces; and two nephews. We were very saddened to hear of David Portmans death this past week. The Orthmans lived across the street from Ralph and family for many years. I am a 1952 graduate of Woodburn High and now my family and I are living in Fort Myers, Fl. Best wishes to all the David's family and especially his mother.
