My condolences to Doc's family. I used to frequent the IPFW athletic center for many years back in the mid-late 80's. Doc was always smiling and was pleasant to all of us there. A really nice gentleman.

Dr Skelton was one of my favorite college professors. He was a great example of the kind of teacher I wanted to be. I was fortunate to have had him as a step into becoming a teacher myself.
Sorry for your loss, Skelly. I´m thinking he´s teaching in heaven.

"Doc" was kind, patient and witty. He brightened our day when he would come to campus to tutor Mastodon student-athletes and the Athletics Department proudly awards the "Doc Skelton" Award annually to the student who best exemplifies athletic and academic success with a commitment to community involvement. He will be missed.
