DONALD FREESE Obituary

DONALD A. FREESE, 90, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Don retired in 1989 as a vice president with Summit Bank following 32 years in banking. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 50 years, a 24 year member of American Legion Post 47 and a member of the New Haven V.F.W. Don was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the Rhineland and Central Europe receiving two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lois Freese of Fort Wayne; son, Michael (Pam) Freese of Indianapolis; daughter, Kim (Vincenzo) DeGennaro of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Rachel Freese, Mason Freese and Grace Freese; and sister, Marilyn Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry Freese and Louise (Hunter) Freese; and brother, Harry Robert Freese. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with Pastor Mark A. Neubacher officiating. Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Spina Bifida Association of Central Indiana or Worship for Shut-Ins.
