Dorothy Doenges Obituary

Dorothy Myrtle Doenges, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on May 24, 2025, Dorothy was born September 10, 1932, in Eckford Township, Michigan, daughter to the late Carl and Myrtle Irene (Brown) Kiessling. Dorothy worked in Preschool Education, helping to develop and strengthen Emmaus Preschool's and Bright Horizons' programs. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Paul W. Doenges; children, Rebecca (Bill) Coleman, Daniel Doenges, Christine (Joe) Romans, and Sharon (Sean) O'Shaughnessey; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Kiessling. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:30 am at Lutheran Life Villages - The Village at Anthony Boulevard, 6701 South Anthony Blvd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Visitation for Dorothy will also be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Lutheran Women's Missionary League or and Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
