Fred Taylor Obituary

FRED HOWARD TAYLOR, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Whitley County, he was a son of Hattie Belle and Ben Taylor, he was a self-employed Attorney for 50 years, retiring in 2004. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, graduate of Valparaiso Law School, a member of Masonic Lodge 189 F&AM Columbia City, Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite, former member News-Sentinel Boys Band, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, Precinct Committeeman, Republican Party, Shrine Band and Shrine Chanters for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Jean Taylor of Fort Wayne; children, John (Monica Hurt) Taylor, Lisa (John) Smith and Aron (Sarah) Taylor, all of Fort Wayne; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Glen Ernest "Pete" Taylor; and sister, Lois Butz. Service is 7:30 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with Shrine service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Shriner's Hospitals for Children or Easter Seal.
