Iris "June" (Dipert) Holt, 96, of New Haven, Indiana, joined many of her loved ones in Heaven on September 21, 2024, at Cedarhurst, Fort Wayne. Born on September 16, 1928, near Walkerton, Ind., she was the youngest daughter of the late Lewis and Lela (Rough) Dipert's seven children. She graduated from Walkerton High School and received her B.S. in Education from Indiana Central College where she met her husband of 75 years Robert, who preceded her in death in January of 2023. She received her Masters Degree at St. Francis University in 1968 and taught English at New Haven Junior and Senior High Schools until retiring in 1984. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed many trips in the USA and abroad. They also went on yearly mission trips in this country and one in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She was very active in the New Haven United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School classes, Bible study classes, and served on the missions team for years. She is survived by her children, Steve (Terri) Holt of Valparaiso, Gary (Lynn) Holt, Susie (Kyle) Platt both of New Haven; daughter-in-law Pam Holt of New Haven; six grandchildren, Shelley Holt and Julie (Jason Dobson) Holt of Las Vegas, Nick (Jenn) Goranson, Sam (Emily Shaw) Holt, and Kelly (Dan Tolomay) Holt, all of New Haven, Emilee (Casey) Johnson of Fort Wayne and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son David; brothers, Chester, Danny, Floyd and Wayne Dipert; and sisters, Sylvia Holland and Velma Shores.
Memorial service is 11 am, Friday, October 4, 2024, at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation two hours prior (9 to 11 am). Preferred memorials are to the Lucille Raines Residence in Indianapolis, or the NHUMC preschool program. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Cedarhurst, Fort Wayne for their loving care of mom and dad during their time there.
