James Kirkhoff Obituary

JAMES R. (LUKE) KIRKHOFF, PE, 69, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 in Fort Myers, Fla. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., he spent the substance of his professional career in the motor winding industry where he served as Vice President of Industra Products, Fort Wayne and later as a prominent, worldwide consultant to that industry. He was a professional engineer and a graduate of the Indiana Institute of Technology, Fort Wayne and the Chrysler Institute, Detroit, Mich. He was an avid golfer and tennis player and captain of his championship tennis team of Fort Myers, Fla. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joann McCarthy Kirkhoff of Fort Myers; son, Michael J (wife Donna) of Fort Wayne; daughter Michelle M. of Big Bear, Calif., son Timothy E. (wife Lisa) of Indianapolis; son James P. (wife Suzy) of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren, Kathleen, Patrick, John and Kristen. Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold, Fort Wayne with a prayer service commencing at D.O. McComb & Sons at 10:30 a.m. Calling from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Son, 1140 Lake Avenue, with a Rosary Service at 8:30 p.m. Burial at the Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne will immediately follow the funeral. The family requests no flowers and that any charitable contributions be made to the donor's choice in the name of James R. Kirkhoff.
