JAMES SEIGEL Obituary

JAMES L. SEIGEL, 82, of Auburn, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at DeKalb Health in Auburn. Born Dec. 14, 1935 in Auburn, he was a son of the late Herman P. and Myrtle M. (Kalb) Seigel. James was a 1953 graduate of Auburn High School and a 1955 graduate of International Business College in Fort Wayne. He married Ann C. Ehinger on Dec. 29, 1956 in Decatur; and she survives in Auburn. James was the first CPA in DeKalb County. He was the owner and operator of the Seigel Group in Auburn where he worked as a certified public accountant from 1967 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Dayspring Community Church in Auburn. He was a member and past president of the Auburn Lions Club, a member and past president of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association, and was a member of the Indiana CPA Society and American Institute of CPAs. Also surviving are four children, Judy A. Harris of Auburn, Jeffrey J. (Lyubov) Seigel of Auburn, Kenneth W. (fianc‚, Ellen Roemke) Seigel of Huntertown of Fort Wayne, and Carol R. (Scot) Harber and her husband, of Fort Wayne; son-in-law, Ronald Jacquay of Auburn; 17 grandchildren, Annie (Taylor) Chase, Miranda (Gabriel Jr.) Salazar, Kateland (Alex) Vernon, Candy (Tyler) Church, Michael Seigel, Joy Seigel, Roman (Maria) Seigel, Alexander Seigel, Olivia (Brandon Fowler) Seigel, Julia Seigel, Arianna Seigel, Victoria Seigel, Sophia Seigel, Isaac Harber, Sierra Harber, and Gideon Harber; three great grandchildren, Linda Chase, Laura Chase, and Gabriel Salazar III; brother, Richard E. (Annabelle) Seigel of Carmel; and an "adopted" son, Adam Sewards of Tulsa, Okla. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda S. Jacquay; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lynn Seigel; grandson, Josiah Seigel; and two brothers, Herman Seigel Jr. and Robert Seigel. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Dayspring Community Church, 2305 N. Indiana Ave., Auburn, with visitation from 10 to11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Pastor Bill Lyne will be officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn. Burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery in Auburn. The legacy of a God fearing man is the choices made by his children and grandchildren. They have continually heaped praise on Jim for his Godly example to them and they are choosing to lead Godly lives as well. Well done, Jim. Well done!
