JEFFREY ALLEN MANNS

JEFFREY ALLEN MANNS, 40, passed suddenly Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, in Dallas, Texas while returning home from a series of performances there. Jeffery was a teacher, conductor, instrumentalist, vocalist, husband, father, son, brother and friend. He shared his love of life, music, and family with everyone who crossed his path. Jeff was born on July 16, 1975 in New Haven, Ind. He graduated from New Haven High School and received his Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Ball State University. Jeff served on the voice faculties at Goshen College and IU/PU of Fort Wayne. He was currently serving as the Director of Music Ministry at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Wilmington, DE. Jeff loved all sports. Specifically, Jeff loved the game of golf, all things Purdue, the Bears and the Chicago Cubs. Jeff loved all types of music, but his passion was for the choral art. As a tenor, Jeff could be heard throughout the nation with many ensembles, including: The Crossing (Pennsylvania), True Concord (Arizona), Vox Humana (Texas),The Spire Ensemble (Missouri), The Thirteen (New York City),The Princeton Singers (New Jersey), and The Mastersingers (Deleware) and was a founding member of Qvinctus (Deleware). He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Ormiston) Manns; daughters, Savannah and Gabriella; mother, Karen (Huguenard) Manns; sisters, Cynthia (Adam) Fleming and Deborah (Craig) Koehlinger; father and mother-in-law, Zachery "Rick" and Cathy Ormiston; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Eric) Englert; nine nieces and nephews, Ember, Baileigh, Dylan, Ian, Derek, Jenna, Cameron, Megan, and Bryce; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close family friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Manns; grandparents, Manson and Ialeen Fancher, Robert Huguenard, Thelma and George Manns Sr. Service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Plymouth Congregational Church UCC, 501 Berry St., Fort Wayne, with calling beginning at 2 p.m. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Also a Memorial service is 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Del.
