We had a lady at St Joe with a severely damaged leg. Plastic surgery and Ortho both recommended amputation. John felt the leg could be saved and after multiple trips to the OR for debridement DID save the leg. RIP John.....you were tremendous !

So sorry,for your loss. Just found out today of his passing. He was a wonderful person and doctor. He operated on my husband in April. Doc. had a wonderful bedside manner, he was always making jokes and making us feel better about everything.

I just learned today! You have my sincere condolences. I worked for Dr. Csicsko in the 80's. He always looked after his staff and always treated me well. I learned a lot from him. I am saddened by your loss; our loss.

Sorry for your loss. I worked with Dr. Csicsko in medical record at St. Joe. He was a devoted physician to work with. He always had a joke to tell. He will be greatly missed.

John was truly one of our dearest friends along with Barb! We spent many great New Years Eve's, together, and other fun times with our families. We've laughed and cried together. We will sorely miss John and can only wrap our arms around Barbara and let her feel the warmth of love we have for she and Chris and Nick. Dr. Csicsko performed heart surgery on my Father in 1984. My Father lived many years after this surgery. We would always exchange a smile and few words when we saw each other at St. Joe Hospital. He will be missed...Maria (Armstrong)Cuney RN

When I was a student nurse, I was observing a CABG he was doing & suddenly he said to me, "Can you name the animals in the Thoracic cage? I'll start. The first is the Esophagoose." He was awesome. I became an ICU nurse & took care of MANY of his patients. He was a great Dr, very compassionate and treated us all like equals. We loved the way he signed his name in the orders. All the letters looked the same !! We called him a member of the god squad and now he really is a member. I have only good memories of him (and a fellow Greek !). He will be missed. Rest in peace Dr Csicsko.

We were deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. John was a valued colleague who always put the needs of our mutual patients first. We appreciate the friendship John and Barbara showed us when we moved to Fort Wayne in 1982, and we are grateful for our time together, including our time at Hilton Head. I worked with Dr. Csicsko at Lutheran Hospital on the CVIC floor. I always enjoyed when he came around to see his patients because he would be able to immediately brighten their mood. I will miss his wit and his jokes!

Dr Csiscko gave me a new heart valve and saved my life. I will always treasure his wonderful heartfelt caring, sincere and continued watch on my progress through the last few years. The medical profession and his family have suffered a great lose. My prayers are with all.

I have worked with Dr.Csicsko ever since I joined Radiation Oncology Associates in 1983. He was always cordial and reaspectful. His contributions to the FW Medical Soiety in various capacities have been valuable and signicant.
Dr Csicsko will be sorely missed.

I can't begin to tell you how much Dr. Csicsko meant to me. My husband had a sudden heart attack at age 42 and Dr. Cskcsko did everything he could to help save him. Unfortunately, he did not survive, but it was not for lack of effort. Dr. Csicsko worked on him way into the night and then came and sat down and hugged me as I cried. I had just lost the love of my life and the father to my two daughters ages 8 and 10. He allowed me to come to his office and explained everything to me the following week. What a wonderful man and doctor!

Dr.Csicsko saved my life I went through a botched procedure and he came into my life he saved my leg from being cut off and he would come in and set by my bed side for hours I was hospitalized for 3 months I would see him daily I can say that there is not many doctors like Dr.Csicsko I love him and he will truly be missed by me and my family our sympathies go out to the family.

There is no greater tribute that one physician can pay to another than this: John was the guy you could call at 0330 on a wintry morning saying that you had a really sick patient. John's reply :
'I'll be right in." Now you are in a place surrounded by the great physician, no more 0300 calls, and you are able to give all your opinions without reservation!

Dr. Csicsko was a very caring doctor who only had his patients best interests in mind. His humor and quick wit were appreciated when he was in the middle of a vein procedure on my legs, all the while making sure I was comfortable. Where will I get "Betty Grable" legs now as he so often referred to his great ability to please a patient and do an excellent job.

I'll never forget my very first interaction with Dr. Csicsko 18+ years ago, it was a very funny story that was typical of his humor. I enjoyed working with him at St. Joseph and respected him greatly.
