Those of us who go all the way back in the neighborhood have missed John since he moved away. I seems he was always around-- a West Central fixture for as long as I can remember. To stop and chat with him on the street was always a pleasure. A truly nice man, always covered up with carpentry projects, yet never in a hurry. A beautiful soul, he cut a unique figure with his long ponytail and beautiful smile, always on foot or in a truck. What a loss for the neighborhood and all of us who were fortunate enough to know him!

John was a wonderful man. He was unique, creative and always giving. He gave me my very best friend and that is something pretty special. For 30 years, Michelle graciously shared her dad with everyone and he will be remembered for his smile, his kindness and generosity. Thank you for everything John.
Love to you all, Michelle, Robert, Chelsea, Nina & Jack

Jennifer and families. I was a renter at 909 Union and friend of your Dad and Mom, along with the Doswells, many years ago. I do woodworking today because your Dad taught me so much and was so enthusiastic about what he did. We spent a lot of time talking about the jobs he got to do and see in West Central. He was a great mentor and friend. I will miss him very much. I remember well when you were born. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and send you all warm hugs for your loss.
