Joseph Hidy Obituary

JOSEPH STEPHEN "JOE" HIDY, 62, of Wabash, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, 6:30 a.m., at his home. Born Nov. 3, 1944, in Wabash, he was the son of Gail and Iva (Bowers) Hidy. He married Patricia Nordman on Feb. 3, 1973, in Wabash. He worked at Ford Meter Box in the ball valve department for 29 years, retiring in June of 2006. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hidy of Wabash; daughter, Katena (Brian) Vice of Fulton; son, Joseph G. Hidy of Wabash; four granddaughters, Brittany Vice, Alisha Vice, Sarina Vice and Grace Vice, all of Fulton; two brothers, Bryan (Linda) Hidy of Fort Wayne and Jack Hidy of North Manchester; six sisters, Elizabeth "Bea" (John) Weesner of Fort Wayne, Janice Frye of North Manchester, Jane Shoudel of Fort Wayne, Phyllis (Louis) Muzzillo of Auburn, Barb Prater of Warsaw, and Mary (Glen) Bryant of Portland; and mother-in-law, Ruth Nordman of Silver Lake. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gail Hidy Jr.; and three sisters, Doris Hidy, Myrtle Myers and Margaret Reed. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Grandstaff Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with Guy Provance and J.P. Freeman officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. The memorial guestbook for Joseph may be signed at www.grandstaff-hentgen.com. Preferred memorials to Wabash County Cancer Society.
