KATHLEEN HORSMAN Obituary

KATHLEEN "PETEY", "PEACHY" HORSMAN, 91, born in Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, in Norristown Pa., at the home of her daughter, Nancy Houyoux. She was the dau-ghter of Martin A. and Alice (Gilmartin) Greven of Fort Wayne and granddaughter of Edward J. and Catherine (Lynch) Gilmartin, founders of Gilmartin Lumber Company, also of Fort Wayne. Kathleen resided in Fort Wayne until 1950, and again for a short time in 1962. She was an active member of the Fort Wayne Newcomers Club with her aunt, Marie Kane. Throughout her life, Peachy was active in her church and community, tirelessly giving of herself for the benefit of others. While residing in central New York State, she was one of three women who petitioned the NYS Education Department to authorize the merger of two districts to allow the provision of K to 12 grades in her areas. She then served on the Publicity Committee for the new Westhill Central School District. Surviving are her daughters, Susan Hart of Rensselaer, N.Y. and Nancy (Richard) Houyoux of Norristown, Pa.; sons, Bob (Grace) of Charlotte, N.C., Rick (Ellen) of Olympia, Wash. and Jim (Jody) of Camillus, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and much loved nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert "RB", "Bev" Horsman, in 2005; and her son, William Patrick. A Memorial service will be celebrated in Camillus, N.Y. at a later date. Arrangements by Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus, N.Y.
