Rev. Dr. Kenneth Frederick Korby

REV. DR. KENNETH FREDERICK KORBY, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Lutheran Home. Ordained on July 25, 1948 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minn., where he served as Assistant Pastor. He also served as Pastor at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Medford, Ore. He was a Professor in the Theology Dept. at Valparaiso University from 1958 to 1980 when he accepted a call to Chatham Fields Lutheran Church, Chicago, Ill., where he retired in 1987. He preached and taught at Zion Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minn., until 1997 when he and his wife moved to Port Angeles, Wash. Surviving are wife, Jeanne; son, Christopher (Mona) Korby of Newcastle, Calif.; daughers, Deborah (Kip) Lynch of Oakland, Calif., and Rebecca Korby of Port Angeles, Wash.; grandchildren, Katherine Lynch, Michael Lynch, Megan Korby, Anne Korby and Will Korby. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1126 S. Barr St. with calling one hour prior to service. Memorials to LCMS Joint Seminary Fund, 1333 S. Kirkwood Rd.
