Kenneth Wittig Obituary

KENNETH R. WITTIG, 83, Hicksville, Ohio, died at Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at home. Born Jan. 12, 1925, in Hicks ville, Ohio, he was the son of Ralph and Ethel (Warner) Wittig. He graduated from Hicksville High School in 1943. He married Lila Lee Headley on May 6, 1949; she survives. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. He was a partner in Headley Motors, Hicksville. In 1962, he co-founded H & W Automotive of Hicksville along with the late Delta R. and Leo R. Headley. He retired from H & W Automotive, in 2007. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; Masonic Lodge 478; American Legion Post 223; and past member of the V.F.W., all of Hicksville. He is survived by his wife, Lila Lee of Hicksville; two daughters, Kristine (John) Miller of Hamilton and Linda (Clair) Forrest of Tiffin, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda) Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Karen and Adam Forrest; and one great-grandson, Jackson Miller. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Roger; and one brother, Harold. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Greg Wack officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with a 7:30 Masonic service. Burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 223. Memorials to Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance or Grace United Methodist Church.
