The following obituary is being republished to correct information. LANCE WAYNE FEIGHNER, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, in Fort Wayne, surrounded by family. Born Feb. 26, 1950, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Ella Lue (Sanxter) Dunlap and Kenneth W. Feighner. Lance graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1968 and was an Honors Graduate of the Indiana University School of Business in 1972. He worked for Lincoln Financial Corporation, Group Health Division, for 21 years in various capacities including Vice President before leaving to pursue his dream of owning a golf course. He was the owner operator of Norwood Golf Club in Huntington, Ind., for 21 years before retiring in 2014. Known for his sense of humor and funny stories, Lance enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing with his grandchildren (his "favorite buddies"), golfing, attending road rallies with his brother, listening to music, and seeing how many Christmas cookies he could eat in one sitting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Christine E. (Bock) Feighner of Fort Wayne; two sons, Nathan A. (Heather) Feighner of Geneva, Ill., and Jeffrey A. Feighner of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Mark S. (Colleen) Feighner of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Jan L. (Thomas) Tidwell of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Hadley E. Feighner and Keira C. Feighner, both of Geneva, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service is 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with visitation one hour prior. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne animal shelter.
