LYNN POORMAN Obituary

LYNN W. POORMAN, 81, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Adams Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1928, in Coles County, Ill., he was the son of C. Roy and Grayce (Kruger) Poorman. Nearly 58 years ago on Jan. 24, 1952, he married Bertha M. (Ray). He served his country in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from International Harvester after 32 years of service and also worked part-time at Zollner Corporation, Fort Wayne. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 43. He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. Poorman of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Sonja (Randal) Roebuck of Flower Mound, Texas; two brothers, John Poorman of Berne and Max Poorman of New Haven; and one grandson, Brandon Roebuck of Flower Mound, Texas. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Michael Heinbaugh officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Ray Cemetery, Monroe, Ind., with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 43.
