MARTY CADE Obituary

MARTY CADE, 85, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, surrounded by love and with her family. Born in 1937 in Fort Wayne, Ind. to her beloved parents, Paul and Elvah Staight, she experienced an amazing childhood with her three siblings, Bob, Doug and Caroline, that was filled with love and traveling. As a proud North Side High School alumna and longtime Waynedale resident, Marty was a hardworking and dedicated single mother to her four children. Marty made unforgettable lifelong friendships with her energetic and dynamic zest for life while working at The Lantern and for the Allen County Sheriff's Department. Marty cherished the adventures she experienced during traveling, enjoying reading, decorating for the holidays, playing cards, gardening and the annual Three Rivers Parade. Marty's greatest passion and pride were her four children, Cherie, Cindy, Crissy and Derek; eight grandchildren, Sara, James, Kelly, Logan, Chelsea, Makenna, Mitch and Ashley; as well as five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, Jack, Adalynn and Wesley, and the treasured memories they shared. A funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46809), with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Contributions in Marty's memory may be made to Stillwater Hospice.
