MICHAEL BECKER Obituary

MICHAEL L. BECKER, 63, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the V.A. Medical Center, Indianapolis. Born Feb. 7, 1946, in Oakland, Calif., he was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School in 1964. He was a Marine Vietnam War veteran and a member of American Legion Post 47. "He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and an avid sports fan." He worked in the mortgage industry. Surviving are his wife, Donna L.; sons, Chad (Jessica) Becker of Cordova, Tenn. and Trent (Ann) Becker of Waukesha, Wis.; grandchildren, Samuel, Ava, Abigail, and Tyler Becker; parents, Paul and Mary Ann Becker of Anderson; sister, Pamela (Ronald) Smith of Anderson; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Phil) Zimmerman of Mansfield, Ohio and Betty (Randy) Pring of Anderson; and several very close nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mayme Carter; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edis and Jacqueline Adams. Funeral service is 5 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling two hours prior. Private burial in Marble Corner Cemetery, Madison, Ind. Preferred memorials to the donor's choice.

Mrs Becker, Chad, and Trent,

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of hanging out at the Becker house and playing basketball in the driveway and whiffle ball in the back yard. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Donna, Chad, and Trent - My Condolences on Mike's passing. I have many fond memories of being with all of you on the Basketball Court and Baseball Diamond. I wish I could be there to be with all of you now but, I was transferred to Florida several years ago. May God Bless all of you during this time of sorrow. Mike will be missed by everyone who knew him.
