MICHAEL JAMES BEDREE

MICHAEL JAMES BEDREE, 65, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. Born in Fort Wayne, Mike was a 1965 graduate of North Side High School where he was a member of the 1965 state runner-up Redskins basketball team. He went on to play basketball at Indiana University and then made his living as a dry cleaner in Fort Wayne, working side-by-side with his parents and in businesses of his own. Surviving are his children, James Bedree and Jeffrey (Nicole) Bedree, both of Fort Wayne, and Michelle (Randy) Smith of Syracuse; father, James Bedree of Fort Wayne; brother, Melvin (Kathleen) Bedree of Cincinnati, Ohio; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Bedree; and mother, Virginia Bedree. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church, 402 Badiac Road, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Jason Blais officiating. Calling also from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, with a Trisagion service at 6:30 p.m. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
