NIKOLAOS GEORGE "NIKOS" HATZIGEORGIOU

NIKOLAOS "NIKOS" GEORGE HATZIGEORGIOU, 64, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, in Krioneri, Greece. Born Feb. 6, 1954, in Krioneri, Greece, he immigrated to America in 1981 and most recently worked at Friends Restaurant alongside his wife, Ana. Prior to Friends, he was owner of New Era Homes, Inc. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are a daughter, Marianthi Hatzigeorgiou; a son, George "Yorgo" Hatzigeorgiou; his brother, Vasilis "Bill" (Angela) Hatzigeorgiou of Thessaloniki, Greece; four brothers-in-law, Gregory (Heather) Raptis and Spyros "Pete" Raptis of Fort Wayne, Chris (Kullie) Raptis of Chicago, Ill., and Konstantinos "Dino" (Kathy) Raptis of Fort Wayne; eight nieces and nephews, Maria Hatzigeorgiou, Stella Hatzigeorgiou, Niko Raptis, Chris Jr. Raptis, Shannon Raptis, George (Stacy) Raptis, Christina (Michael) Nemcik, Eleni (Sam) Pullen; nine great-nieces and nephews, Zoe, Tommy, Alexander, Rowan, Lilith, Spyro, Lia, Yiani, and Fox; and extended family throughout America and Greece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ana in 2017; sister, Marianthi in 1984; parents, George in 1966 and Maria in 2016; and in-laws, George in 2004 and Aphrodite in 1997 Raptis. Service was held in Krioneri, Greece. Celebration of life is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the ALS Association Indiana Chapter.
