PAUL SECHLER Obituary

PAUL LEE SECHLER, 80, formerly of St. Joe, Ind., entered into Heaven on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind. Born in Hicksville, Ohio, on April 5, 1943, he was a son of the late Wilmer "Brownie" and Marcella (Hollabaugh) Sechler. He married Arla M. Stomberg on July 11, 1964 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Paul was a farmer and also retired from B.F. Goodrich as a forklift driver. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in St. Joe, Ind., and loved to hunt and fish. Surviving are his wife, Arla Sechler of Spencerville, Ind.; children, Angela Sechler (Rob McManus) of St. Paul, Minn., Brian (Risa) Sechler of St. Joe, Ind.; step-grandchildren, Brandy Kumfer, Esq. (Dr. Christopher) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Meagon (David) Badger of Indianapolis, Ind.; five step great-grandchildren. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Carnahan - Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, Ind., with calling from noon to 2 p.m. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe, Ind. Memorials to the DeKalb Humane Shelter, 5730 CR 11A, Auburn, IN 46706; or DeKalb County Council on Aging, 1800 E. 7th St., Auburn, IN 46706. Arla, Angie, and Brian, I am so sad that I cannot make it home in time for the Paul´s service. I wish I could be there to help comfort you. I have known Paul since he was 17 yrs old and have many good memories.
