PAULINE COLLIER Obituary

PAULINE (STAPLETON) COLLIER, 91, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at home. She had been lovingly cared for by Visiting Nurse Hospice and Visiting Angels for several months and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Paul Hunter and Marie (Keith) Stapleton. She graduated from Fleming High School, Fleming. Ky. She married the late Worley Collier Jr. on Aug. 7, 1943 and enjoyed 67 loving years of marriage. Pauline was a strong Christian role model for her six children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was a faithful and active member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God. She celebrated the blessing of her 90th birthday with a luncheon at the church last spring. As her oldest granddaughter said at the celebration, "Her life is a legacy of love." Pauline was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and very devoted to her Wednesday morning bible study group. She is survived by her four sons, Jeffery (Robin) Collier of Leo, Craig (Tamara) Collier of Bristol, Scott (Allison) Collier of Fort Wayne, and Shawn (Betsy) Collier of Bluffton; one daughter, Leslie (Keith) Weirich of Goshen; brothers, Clayton Stapleton of Marshall, Mo., Charles Stapleton of Estacada, Ore., James Stapleton of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Timothy Stapleton of Portland, Ore.; and sister, Sue Shields of Rogersville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Worley Collier Jr.; daughter, Sandra Collier; son, Judge Loren Collier; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Collier Riley; and brother, Edward Stapleton. A celebration of her life is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Anthony Wayne First Church of God, 6012 South Bend Drive, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Visiting Nurse or the church.

Betsy Collier is a friend with SOFC. A group of us had gone to lunch with Pauline. I found her to be just the most sweet and gentle person I have ever met. I know she will be greatly missed.

Pauline, rest in pease. I loved your visits to see me at the nursing home, and the gifts you always gave me. We had some very nice conversations. I will miss you sweet person, but God has another. Beautiful Rose to walk his streets of gold.
