PETER SAYA Obituary

PETER MICHAEL SAYA II, 25, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at his home. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y. He played soccer, football and hockey through his school years. He loved his friends, family and his kittens. He was an exemplary student attending Homestead High School, Indiana University and IPFW where he received his Bachelor degree with Distinguished Honors in Science and Biology from Purdue University and was working on his masters at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, Peter and Chris Saya of Fort Wayne; sisters, Andrea (Nicky) Saya of Syracuse, N.Y., Tonya Hochstuhl, Jessica Hochstuhl, and Alexis Saya, all of Fort Wayne, and Amanda Saya of Atlanta, Ga.; grandparents, Mary and Fred Pollman of Valrico, Fla. and Jane Saya of Syracuse, N.Y.; 10 aunts and uncles, 14 cousins; and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake Peter M. Saya. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior.Calling also from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at the funeral home. I often think of Peter. He was my neighbor when he passed away. Always such a kind person. It was a joy to ride the elevator with him from the 13th floor and have casual conversation and laughs. I will forever remember my neighbor and pray for his family!

Here I am again, posting on here. No one does anymore as I've said, but I find myself on here a lot. Looking at pictures of Peter's handsome face, reminding myself it is real, and just to honor him. In just a few days Peter would have been 29. I can't explain the pain it feels losing him. I was young, but I love him. My mom, I couldn't even imagine what she goes through. Peter brought so much joy, love, happiness, and humor into everyone's lives he was involved in. I love and miss you. Forever 25.

Peter amazed me how smart and handsome he was! He never let me have a bad day. Always made sure everyone had a great day. IPFW will not be the same this semester without him. I was very fortunate to have known Pete for the last 2 years. RIP

I was sadly surprised when I read the paper today. There was Peter, looking as handsome as ever. I knew Peter when he was a student at Aboite Elementary - bright, smiling, quiet, helpful, model student - one of the most dependable Friendly Helpers I ever had, as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside. Peter's death is a tragic loss to his family as well as the to the students, faculty, and staff at IPFW. Peter was very energetic and I enjoyed interacting with him at the Graduate Student Organization functions. I am the Director of Graduate Studies at IPFW. The family has my most sincere sympathy.
