PETER F. SPRINGER

PETER F. SPRINGER, 65, of Fort Wayne, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, April 15, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Wayne, Pete was a son of the late Jean and Sally Springer. He graduated from St. Augustine Seminary in Holland, Mich., then attended Villanova University before moving back to Fort Wayne to complete his degree in business administration from IPFW in 1978. After graduating, Pete joined the family business, Springer Jewelers, alongside his father and grandfather. In 1991, Pete became co-owner with his brother, Dave Springer. Pete became sole owner of the business in 2015 and worked with his son, Ben Springer. Pete retired in 2022, closing the store after 91 years in business. Pete enjoyed music and attending concerts, bowling, photography, watching the Hoosiers and the Chicago Cubs, and caring for his dogs. He loved to travel, visiting every state with the exception of Hawaii. He was a past member of the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy "Cid" Springer; son, Benjamin Springer; daughter, Erin "Aaron" Fenker; granddaughter, Eleanor Rose born on March 24, 2022; siblings, Tim Springer, Dave "Peg" Springer, Anne Coffee, and Ellen "Brian" Hardy; and his beloved dog, Chloe. "His sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him." A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
