Once when I was younger maybe 12 Grandpa took me fishin and I caught a lil baby catfish it was cute I asked if I could keep it Grandpa said yes it had been raining so it was muddy he told me to get some water in the bucket but dont fall in so me being me of course I slide in the edge he yelled and told me I had to sit in the bed of the truck on the way home he let me sit up front on his jacket and he made me throw the fish in the river and he never took me fishin again but it was a great day and I'll always remember that look on his face when i asked if I could keep the fish.

well dad it's been a year since you left to go home to heaven. i miss you so much and i know your in a far better place where you have no sickness or pain. you were a very special man you took care of your family and you would have given your life to save one of your children. i remember the life i had growing up with you as a father you taught us right from wrong you gave us unconditional love. one of the things i remember is when i was 14 years old i wanted my ears pierced and you told me to get you a nail and a pair of pliers and you would pierce my ears for me and then on christmas morning i got a pair of self-piercers for a present. that was one christmas i will never forget i love you dad viola

Next week marks the first anniversary of the death of my grandfather. On this day of great sorrow I ask everyone to bow your head and take a moment of silence to pay your respects to this wonderful man. While you are doing this I also ask that you take a moment and send out a prayer for my grandmother and the rest of their family. I would love to hear from everyone. Myself and others will be sponsoring this guestbook, and would love for others to share their thoughts and feelings for this wonderful man. Please pass this along to everyone you can think of. Right now those memories will be helpful in dealing with our grief and loss. If you decide to share know that it is free to do so. If you would like to share a photo there is a cost of $3 per photo. Thank you for your time.

He is with all of us

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Where do I start... My grandpa was my world.. The family tree would say he was my grandfather but to me he was my father.. He made me the person I am today, without him I would not be where I am today. He taught me so much about life.. He taught me that I have to work for what I want and be the best I can be..I was so honored to have him give me away at my wedding and for him to meet my daughter..Just to see the joy on his face when I gave him a great granddaughter...You would have thought he was waiting on that his whole life... I know he won't be here physically to watch her grow but he will see her grow up to be the person he taught me to be.. I miss him more than you can imagine and think of him everyday...Even though he is not here with me physically, he is with me at all times...I know he is watching over our family... I love you Paw Paw...

Ralph was a wonderful, patient man. I knew him for 12 years and know that he will be sorely missed in this world. He made a legacy of children, grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. More importantly he made a legacy of compasion for those he loved. I'm only sorry that I did not have a chance to know him longer, but I know that fond memories will be embedded with me for a lifetime. God Bless all that had an opportunity to know and love him.
