Bob and I were fraternity brothers and friends at PSU and Chi Phi. His fraternity brothers and I had tried to find him on numerous occasions over the years, and then I saw of his passing in the current issue of the Penn Stater. I am really sorry to hear this terrible news; Bob, myself, my brother and Rich Minner lived together our senior years in State College in an apartment. We had good times together and Bob was the first person I knew that had a love affair with computers - he spent far too many hours in the the Computer Science Building each evening. He also lived at my parents house for a portion of a summer after our Junior year, while doing an internship with AT&T in Philadelphia, and his family always sent fresh candies from their shop. Bob was a good athlete and excelled on our fraternity wrestling team, I believe he was the IFC champ in his weight division our Sophomore and Junior years.
I'm sorry we lost touch over the years and his fraternity brother will be depressed to hear of his passing.

I worked with Bob for 18 years at Schwab and we always had plenty to talk about because we were both from Pennsylvania. Bob was always a man of his word and you could always count on him to go the extra mile to make sure everything was exactly the way it needed to be. Whenever we had major events to cover over weekends especially during the holiday season I would always contribute my wife Connie's chili and Bob would share his prized handmade chocolates send from his Mom. So sad that his life was cut so short and that he was not able to experience more retirement. He will be missed... My thoughts are with all of his friends and family as they process through his life and the memories that they shared with him.

Bob and I were on the same baseball team in the late 60's. Bob was a great teammate and exceptional catcher. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I have worked with Bob for around 18 years and I can tell you he was one of a kind. His passion for elegance' resulted in a sometimes bumpy transition but always a beautiful multilane superhighway when he was done. I think it was his compassion for others that set him apart, whenever anyone had some type of issue, personal or professional, Bob would compose a memo and, with his mastery of the English language, could relate his feelings and that seemed to make the problems just a bit more tolerable. Bob, I hope you and your family can find peace, you will be missed

So sorry to hear this. Memories of over 50 years ago come flooding back from hanging out at the Fairfield Ave. house watching Batman to raising fruit flies for Biology class and watching Super Bowl I at the Westwood house. Not to mention our time in Chorus and Musicals. We saw each other at HS reunions, but as it so often happens, we lost touch. Mr. and Mrs. Havers, please accept my condolences. I was blessed to know this truly talented and funny man.John Martin

I was Roberts's high school wrestling coach. I will never forget the day he came in and said coach, the wrestling championships are the same weekend as District Chorus. What should I do? He always had a lead in the school musicals and music was his love. I asked what he was planning to take as a major in college. He said he was thinking music. I said go to the chorus competition. He was a great kid and I appreciated his honesty. Sad to read about his loss.
