Stan - After more than a dozen years since you were last with us, your impact is still being felt. Thanks for all those days in 1978 that you and Tom and I spent together sharing our beliefs and faith ... knowing that we all believed the same thing: God sent his Son for every one of us so that we might be saved by His grace. -- Steve Jones, NHS '78

God has brought memories and thoughts of this magnificent Godly servant, Stan Buck, recently. I was reminded that I owe so much of my Christianity to Stan. He spent many hours discipling, teaching, sharing life, trusting, encouraging, loving me. Thank you Lord for Stans time here on earth and the difference he made/makes in my life and only You know how others!

What a remarkable man. He loved and led with great strength and tenderness. His smile when he spoke of his family was simply delightful. Thinking of you Kathy, Stephanie and Ashley with prayer as you walk the difficult and dear-to Jesus journey of grief.

Stan had a heart for all people, lived a great life with his priorities in order, "ran in such a way as to win the prize" and finished strong. The way he lived was an inspiration to all of us along with his courage and love for his family. He was a great man who now continues his walk stride for stride with his King. It was our privilege to know him. We ask God's blessing on Kathy and his family thru this difficult time.

Dear Kathy, Stephanie and Ashley, my prayers are with you in this time of grief. I will miss time with Stan at conference and the occasional trip to Wawasee. I have wonderful memories and still consider many at Sonrise close friends. I am grateful for the opportunities Stan gave me and the example of Jesus Christ he was to the church and community. I am grateful that this is not the end and one day I will see my brother in Christ again. There is grief now but joy will come in the morning.

A great man was called home. He will be missed by many. I didn't know him personally, but I did get to know him by his online connection. He was a man who had the most amazing faith and total trust in our God. After reading his obituary, he touched so many lives. Prayers for all the family and friends who will have a void in their heart because this man is gone. May the thought and image of him entering his Heavenly Home be your strength. I'm sure God was standing there with open arms and saying, Come to Me my faithful servant:)))) God bless you all:)

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when he and his wife and small girls came to the College and asked for people to call people in the phone book to invite them to come to the new church that was starting. I was one of the callers. Heaven, once again, is sweeter by the day. I will be praying for the family and church family as all adjust to a "new normal"

Stan was one of my students at Northside High School. He had a definite way about him, an ability to lead as evidenced by his high school politics of being a class officer. And to which I have a very fond smile and memory: It was his senior class (and I believe under his leadership) that removed the clappers from the passing bells and held them for ransom! It was probably the most clever senior prank ever! And as I say this, I hope that you will have a smile and memory to share to lighten everyone's sorrow. He is now with God and has no more pain. My most sincere sympathy is extended to all of his family and close friends.

i feel like it was a priviledge to walk this path with you all through Deanna Greenes posts. I lost my mom to cancer and it is a very difficult path to have to travel,,, you all have been and will continue to be in our prayers in the coming days as you begin a new normal with this man no longer physically in your lives. as i watched him go through being ill every day,, it gave me strength to stay connected to God in the midst of my daily pain i deal with,, know his death was not in vain,,, many lives wtih forever be changed because of him.

Kathy, our family doesn't know you well. We have only said hi a few times. As a family we started attending Sonrise almost 2 1/2 years ago. Our daughter Sierra (the youngest of 3 girls) was in pre-school last year and the year before and loved every minute that they had Chapel with Pastor Stan. Our girls & I have been praying for Pastor Stan & your family every day for 18 months and we will continue to pray for Grand baby T and your family.

We are working to understand God's plan for Stan as we recently learned of his courageous battle. Stan touched our family's lives by faithfully leading us and dedicating our children to the Lord. We are humbled by his life and all that he gave and loved. There is no doubt he received God's praise. Bless you Kathy, girls, son-in-laws, and baby Thomas.
