As a young sophomore at Anderson High School I had the privilege of playing basketball and baseball with Steve. His hard work and determination provided a valuable lesson for me. His inspiration in athletics and life was a blessing I treasure.

I don't believe I had seen Steve since Anderson High in 1967. My sympathies go to the family. It saddens me to learn Steve may have been close to retirement at the time of his passing. The family shall be in the thoughts and prayers of many in Anderson.

Sandy. I am so sorry. Know that we are all here for you. I cannot express how much I miss Steve nor the impact he had on me. He changed how I look at life. I admired his always positive, "don't sweat the small stuff..and it's all small stuff" attitude and that I never heard a negative word from him. I am so very grateful to have known him and won't forget him.
What a legacy Mr. "Wonderful" left behind!

Steve was my step-father, and he taught me about how to live life with joy. Rarely was there a moment that he wasn't smiling or speaking a positive word. My husband and I called him Mr. Wonderful because when we asked him how he was doing--his most common response was "I'm Wonderful!". His love and positivity will be missed by everyone who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family. Steve hired me in 1999 at Holland. His open door to his office and friendly nature made working there a pleasure. I was sorry when he left Holland and am grieved to hear of his passing.

I worked with Steve at Holland Motor Express in Alexandria from 1986 to 1993. He made working there fun and was part of a very special group of people. He was the greatest at telling stories about things that happened there.
