Joan, you will be missed by all your family and friends. I will always remember all the good times we had growing up in Johnston. My mother still talks of your mother when they made our cheerleading outfits in Junior High. I will never forget your dimples when you smiled. I was so jealous because I didn't have them. My thoughts and prayer are with your family.

I will always remember the good times we had in our couponing group back in early 80's. Seen Jo off & on since then & it was always like our "friendship" never changed. She always had a good thing to say & was always happy-especially when we seen her in Wal-mart within a week of her passing. She was so happy, and full of the love of her Lord. God Bless your family in your time of sorrow. Katrina "Curry" Drillien

Joan and I spent our childhood together in the K-12 school years in Johnston Iowa. Her laugh was infectious and that high wattage smile was always present. My deep felt sympathy to your whole family and God's healing to you all.

Dear Ron and family,
I am an "old Johnston" friend. I have the cutest picture of Joan in her little Brownie uniform. All of us will remember her great spirit and those gorgeous cheerleader legs!
May God be with you all and continue to give you strength and peace now and tomorrow. Remember how much she was loved. She's dancing and cheering with Jesus now!

Joan (Ra-ra)- you welcomed me into your family as a beloved daughter and friend and I thank God that I had the opportunity to be part of your world. You will be greatly missed, but I know that you are rejoicing in Heaven with your Savior at this moment, greeting loved ones who have gone before you, and you are free from pain, fear, and sorrow. May the Lord greet you with open arms! And I pray for your family to be comforted as they look forward to seeing you again. Praise God for your life and the impact you had on the people around you.

Ron and family, sending you our prayers. Joan and I grew up together in Johnston, Iowa where we both attended school. My first memory of Joan was early elementary age. She was riding her bike down my street and I challenged her for a race. The road was 1/4 a mile dead end and we started at one end and was to race to the other..Think she beat me by at least 50 yards. Last time I would ever challenge her to anything.. She always had a terrific smile..Remember the good times and how much she loved you and the kids.
