WILLIAM ARMSTRONG Obituary

WILLIAM D. ARMSTRONG, 86, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at Markle Health Care in Markle Ind. Born July 4, 1934, in Middle Point, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harry W. nand Jennie M. Armstrong. He graduated from North Side High School in 1952. He retired after 40 years as the Senior Buyer at Phelps Dodge in Fort Wayne. William was an avid fisherman, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing golf, was a Tiger's baseball and I.U basketball fan. William is survived by his children, Tim Armstrong of Huntington, Ind., Robert A. (Kathy) Armstrong of Fort Wayne and Beth Ann Armstrong of New Haven, Ind.; brothers, Ronald L. (Carol) Armstrong and Norman A. (Georgia) Armstrong, both of Florida; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannine Armstrong on June 24, 2020; daughter-in-law, Barbara Armstrong in October of 2020; brothers, Merritt, Harry A., Nolan A., Ernest L., and Robert E.; and an infant sister, Martha Armstrong. A private funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Please join the family virtually for the funeral at the D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Facebook page for the livestream. Public visitation with social distancing is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 24, 2020, at the funeral home.
