Mr. Poitras was always there for all of his kids and grandkids. I would see him at many sporting events. Growing up he always had time to talk to everyone and still did as I would see him on the basketball court as an official. A great man that will be missed by many. God Bless you all!

I remember Officer Poitras very fondly. When I was in high school he always took time to chat with me and my friends. He was always encouraging and respectful to teens, something which is rare in police/teen interactions. I ran into him a few years after high school, when some of my college friends went home with me for dinner. We had a really nice talk, and my friends remarked that that was the first time they had ever had a positive interaction with the police. He was a good person and will be missed. Sorry for your loss. Eric and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember him from my youth days when my Dad was teaching SPD photography and darkroom processing. I always enjoyed talking with your Dad about police work, and he gladly spoke with me about it. He was an inspiration to me to become a police officer.
Please accept my deepest and sincerest sympathies at this most difficult time.
May God welcome your Dad with welcome arms into Eternal peace.

Don,Eric&Norma,
Sorry for your loss but know my sister Deb welcomes him home. I remember as a teenager "Cheyenne" in his white 1959 Chevy impala would come to the house or Candyland to pick Deb up. When that car drove into Farmington every one knew who it was and nobody messed with him. He had worked hard to purchase that car and was very proud. An impressive sight and as we all know a kind,loving,loyal and gentle soul. We could use more people like him in this world.Love,Becky

To the Poitras Family;
I am sadden to hear of your loss, Norman was among the first great individuals in law enforcement I had the honor and privilege to work with in the early days of my career. A truly kind person of concern for all he encountered in his line of duty. His sense of commitment, dedication without compromise is his legacy. Rest in peace my Brother in arms and God Bless and comfort all the family.

To the Poitras family it comes with great sadness on the passing of your dad it feels like the other day when I would see all of you in church on Sunday together as a family then would see your mom and dad at all your kids basketball games when I was reffing.
May God watch over all of you in your time of need.
