Roger Norton Obituary
He was born May 13, 1930, in York Beach, a son of Roger R. and Loretta May (Seymour) Norton Sr. and was a lifelong resident of York Beach. He was a delivery man for Norton Oil Co. for many years and also dealt in real estate.
He was a member of the Union Congregational Church. He enjoyed Western movies and long drives, especially his grandchildren. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary T. (Barrus) Norton; two sons, Harry H. Norton and his wife, Jill, and Roger "Rusty" Norton III and his wife, Melody, all of York Beach; two daughters, Christine A. Herpst and her husband, Paul, of North Pole, Alaska. and Heidi L. Byers and her husband, Robert, of York Beach; a sister, Lillier Langille of North Berwick; eight grandchildren, Harry Jr., Loretta, Justin, Jessica, Carmen, Felicia, Marcus and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Rowen and Brady.
Calling hours for Roger will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 15, in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York, Maine. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Union Congregational Church, Church Street, York Beach, Maine. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery behind the Church.
