Victor Dumont Obituary

BERWICK, Maine - Victor R. Dumont Sr., 79, of Pine Hill Road, died at Varney Crossing in North Berwick, on Sunday, November 6, 2016. Born July 24, 1937, in Somersworth, N.H., the son of George and Blanche (Caron) Dumont.

He served his country in the National Guard. He went on to work as a mechanic at several different places, including Emerson Chevrolet, Midway Buick and Williams Cadillac, before opening his own garage, Vic's Garage in Berwick. He also worked as a part time police officer in Berwick during the 60's.

Vic was known as a man that could fix anything. No matter what day it was he could be found in his garage fixing and tinkering with his many projects. His customers knew Victor for his honesty, integrity and his craftsmanship.

Victor is survived by his four boys, Victor Dumont Jr. and his wife Eileen of Berwick, Michael Dumont and his wife Kim of Berwick, Anthony and his Fiancée Pam Milton of South Berwick and Mark Dumont and his wife Amy of Berwick; seven grandchildren, Lucas Dumont and his wife Kelsey of Berwick, Andrea Dumont and her fiancé Bill of Milton, N.H., Sarah Dumont, Emily Dumont, Katherine Dumont all of S.C., John Dumont of Berwick and Meghan Dumont of Berwick; three great grandchildren; and a sister Laurette Babb of Somersworth.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Phyllis (Boston) Dumont; five brothers, Roland, Roger, Normand "Lucien", Adelard "Gene" Dumont and Leonard Dumont.

SERVICES: An hour of calling will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016, from 10-11 a.m., at the McIntire McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., South Berwick, Maine. A Funeral Service will be follow at 11 a.m., at the Funeral Home. Following the service Vic will be buried next to his wife at Evergreen cemetery in Berwick.
