Walter Unger Obituary
Walter was a loss control specialist for The Mutual Fire Insurance Association of New England until his retirement in 1995. Walter also was retired from the Army National Guard after 20 year of service and attaining the rank of Captain.
He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and competitive target shooting. He also enjoyed spending time on the water boating and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Pelham Fish and Game Club and the Major Waldron Sportsmen's Association.
Walter is survived by his three sons; Dennis and his wife Phyllis Unger of West Newbury, Mass., Jim and his wife Jennifer Unger of Plaistow, N.H., Michael and his wife Connie of Strafford, N.H.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Norma (Houle) Unger and a sister, Marie Kental.
SERVICES: Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd., RT. 4, Lee, NH 03861. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at St. Joseph's Church of Northwood, 944 First NH Turnpike, RT. 4 Northwood, NH 03261 with Father John Mackenzie, officiating.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Walter's name to the Strafford Firemen's Association; and mail to the Strafford Fire Department, 360 Province Road, Strafford, NH 03884, for all the help they gave Walter as his health was failing.
