Alexander McIntyre Obituary

Alexander William McIntyre left this earthly life on July 9, 2025.

He was born on December 7, 1964 to Mary V. and James D. McIntyre, growing up in Frederick County, MD. Growing up in the country with his brother and sisters he wanted to follow along playing in the woods and walking (sometimes getting piggyback rides) to the nearby pond to swim and play in the creek on a summer's day. Alex or Sandy as we called him back then, was the first of us to have Lego building blocks as a child, he learned to be very creative. Like his older brother, Alex joined Cub Scout Troop 268, moving up to Boy Scouts when he became old enough.

After High School, he joined the United States Army.

Alex loved books and learning on many topics, a book he studied often was the Bible.

On May 3, 1986, he married Wanda Lee Painter beginning their life together in Boonsboro, MD. They raised four children, Wade Tayler, Bryan Semus, Ian Dustin and Mariah Hope.

Spending time in the woods was important to him, kayaking (he built a kayak), fishing and studying the flora and fauna.

Throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs, working as a correctional officer for the Maryland State Prison System, as a baker, and a carpenter. Later in his life, he became a CNA. He truly liked helping people.

He is predeceased by his parents, Mary V. and James D. McIntyre and his sister Elizabeth E. McIntyre-Danner.

Surviving are siblings Jan McIntyre-Creager, James D. McIntyre (kimanh), Leah Louie (Ron), Alice DeCarlo (Danny) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brother-in-law and good friend Mike Danner.

To honor Alex's life a donation to The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission would be greatly appreciated.

The Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, August 19th. Vistation 2 with service at 3PM. Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Fredrick, MD 21701 Alexander W. McIntyre
