Doris Walter Obituary

Doris M. "Bowles" Walter, 78, of Damascus, MD passed away on January 23, 2014. Daughter of the late Roy K. and Lucy May Smith Kessinger. Survived by her husband, Robert Walter, as well as six children; Barbara Lewis and husband Ray of Damascus, MD, Joyce Rhinehart and husband Tom of Monrovia, MD, Richard Bowles and wife Donna of Frederick, MD, Garry Bowles and wife Lisa of Mt. Airy, MD, Janet Compton and husband Mark of West Virginia, and Tony Bowles and wife Kelly of Sharpsburg, MD, and three step-children; Teresa Walter of Damascus, MD, Robyn Hulbey and husband Bruce of Gaithersburg, MD, and Andrew Walter and wife Angela of Damascus, MD. Predeceased by he husband, Randolph Bowles and son, Michael Bowles. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren; Steve Lewis, Melissa Smith, Michael Bowles, Emily Clowser, Thomas "TJ" Rhinehart, Katie Rhinehart, Mathew Bowles, Missy Shank, Amy Sheetz, Sarah Compton, Allison Compton, Elisha Hinkle, and Jesse Bowles, as well as eighteen great-grandchildren, nine sisters, and two brothers. Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd. Laytonsville, MD 20882. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 21720 Laytonsville Rd. Laytonsville, MD 20882. Interment will be in Laytonsville Cemetery.
