Mr. Joseph Franklin Hartman

Mr. Joseph Franklin Hartman, 66, longtime resident of Emmitsburg, MD, died Monday, April 29, in Georgetown, SC.
Born July 15, 1946, in Frederick, MD., he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Nellie Virginia Kidwiler Hartman.
Joe was the loving husband of Pamela Peacock Hartman and a devoted father to Shannon and Angie. As an affectionate grandparent to Colette Hartman and Irene Trexler, "Granddaddy Cupcake" delicately accommodated their whims. He supported his family unhesitatingly in life.
Mr. Hartman was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of 1964, after which he attended the University of Maryland. Mr. Hartman then joined the Army, serving in Okinawa. Marrying, he left the military for work at Frederick Electronics, where he worked until retiring to Georgetown, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Peacock Hartman, of Georgetown, SC; two children, Joseph Shannon Hartman of Georgetown, SC, and Angela Hartman of Rocky Ridge, MD; two granddaughters, Colette and Irene; siblings, Carol Ann Hartman-Rowe of Frederick, and Daniel Virts Hartman and wife Janie of Brunswick, brother-in-law Tony Walker of Jefferson, and sister-in-law Laura Pierson and husband Frank Pierson of Winchester, VA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Walker.
A private graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.
