Judith Allen Obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Davis Allen of Frederick, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2:58 a.m. at Heartfields Assisted Living in Frederick. Judy died at the age of eighty-one, following a courageous four-year battle with dementia.

Judy was born on May 4, 1943 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennyslvania, to Harleth Wynn Davis and Reba Alberta Woomer Davis. She attended and graduated from Newport Township High School in 1961, followed by Wilkes-Barre Business College. As a young woman, she was employed by the Wyoming National Bank of Wilkes-Barre.

Judith married Donald Lee Fine on June 12, 1965, in Alden, Pennsylvania. The couple relocated to Frederick, Maryland, in 1969 and raised three children together. Judy was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker for years, focusing her attention on nurturing her children and home. As a mother and proud community member, Judy was a devout supporter of anything in which her family and children were involved. She unwaveringly attended swim meets, band concerts, soccer games and neighborhood gatherings.

Judith married William "Pete" Allen on March 31, 1989. The couple had been married for 31 years at the time of Pete's passing in December 2020.

Beginning in 1986, Judy was a dedicated employee of YMCA of Frederick County for over 34 years. Though she was a reserved and private person by nature, Judy was well-known and recognized by the local community in her long-time position as a customer service representative, always providing kindness and support to others in her role.

Judy regularly attended and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and more recently, Calvary United Methodist Church. Judy also enjoyed traveling with her husband and children, having taken trips to European countries, Japan, and an Alaskan cruise, to name a few. Judy loved being a grandmother and always cherished special times with her family, above all.

Surviving are her children, Dawn Ann (Bambrick) and husband Timothy of Brunswick, Maryland, Heather Lynn (Harper) and husband Gregory of Frederick, Matthew Sean Fine and wife Helen of Falls Church, Virginia, as well as five grandchildren, Melanie Bambrick, Shepard and Levi Boyd, and Nathaniel and Jake Fine. In addition, she is survived by her brother Harleth Davis and wife Elizabeth, niece Rebecca Agostine and nephew James Davis, of Dallas, Pennsylvania.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Harleth Wynn Davis and Reba Alberta Woomer Davis, as well as her husband William Peter Allen, and son-in-law Richard Boyd.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 24 from 11 to 1 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Shannon Sullivan. Interment will be private at a later date at Berwick Cemetery in Berwick, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartfields Assisted Living of Frederick, Hospice of Frederick County, and Alzheimer's Association of Frederick. Judith Allen

Hello Heather,
I just learned that your mom passed away earlier this year. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Judy was a shining light to me and all of the members as we entered the YMCA for many, many years. I never saw her without a smile on her face. She was always there, it seemed! I hope that pleasant memories of her can bring you peace and comfort. Sincerely, Lori Follmer
