Richard Bartholomew Obituary

Richard "Richie" Lee Bartholomew, 43, of Point of Rocks, passed away on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at his home following a courageous battle with leukemia (ALL). He was the loving husband of Lori Ann Bartholomew. They were married for 22 years.

Born Oct. 25, 1966, he was the son of Jack and Carla Bartholomew of Pennsylvania.

Richie was a skilled machinist with more than 20 years of experience and he was currently employed by the Carnegie Institution of Washington as a instrument maker. He loved wrestling and was a Brunswick Junior Matclub Wresting Coach. Richie was an inspiration to all of the kids he coached throughout the years.

In addition, Richie enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and he will be remembered by his friends of the Outcast Trail Riders.

Most importantly, Richard loved his children and he was an amazing father.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his five children, Terry Bartholomew, Tyler Bartholomew, Travis Bartholomew, Thomas Bartholomew and LeAnn Bartholomew; his three sisters, Amy Beatty and husband, Steve, Bobbie Bartholomew Apel and Jackie Briggs and husband, Eddie. He will also be remembered by many other family members and all of his many special friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 3882 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, with Pastor Paul Papp officiating.
