Roger Cissel Obituary
He was the husband of the late Emily Ripley Gaver Cissel.
Born July 29, 1909, in Glenelg, he was a son of the late Philip Belt and Ella Barbara Iglehart Cissel.
Mr. Cissel was raised on the family farm in Glenelg, and received his bachelor's degree from Western Maryland College in 1932.
He retired in the late 1980s as a Realtor with Palladi Real Estate Sales in Baltimore.
Mr. Cissel was an avid collector of antiques. He also enjoyed researching the Cissel and Iglehart family histories in Maryland.
He was a member of New Market Methodist Church.
Surviving are three stepsons, Wallace P. Gaver of Virginia, David Gaver of Mount Airy, and Joel E. Gaver of Union Bridge; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Slack Funeral Home, 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, with the Rev. Dr. Harold Bell Wright II, of Trinity United Methodist, Frederick, officiating.
Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
