Shirlee Leithauser Obituary
Born on August 25, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William H. Smitzel and Mary Emily Smitzel (Meade).
Mrs. Leithauser was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Dukes and husband William of Charles Town, WV and Jeffrey Leithauser and wife Cecelia of Port Charlotte, FL ; grandchildren Michael, Gillian, Kaitlin, Andrew, Kylie and Derek; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Peggy Mahoney of Baltimore and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandson Jacob Leithauser.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
A celebration of Shirlee's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
