Andrew J. Slye
Andrew John "A.J." Slye of Stafford County passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Memphis, Tenn.
Andrew was a 2012 graduate of North Stafford High School, where he starred on the football team and served as captain. He attended Salisbury University, and was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, David P. and Laura B. Slye; his brother, Joseph "Joey" Slye; his paternal grandfather, John P. Slye; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Elaine Maul; aunt and uncles Ellen Maul Haubrich, Bill Maul and John Slye; and several cousins and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Ararat Baptist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 5511 Staples Mill Road, Suite 202B, Richmond, VA 23228.
