Charles Spillman

Charles E. Spillman, 71, of King George, passed away peacefully at home with his two sons, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He was known as Pops to his family. He was a lifelong resident of King George County who proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Charlie was the owner and operator of Edgehill Exxon for many years. He valued his many local customers and dear friends he made during his time at the station. He also spent a great deal of his life as a waterman, first on a boat catching crabs with his father, then with his sons and finally with his beloved grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan who loved spending Sundays watching football with his family while cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and anyone that played against Washington. He also followed the New York Yankees and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. He will be cherished and missed by many.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Mary Spillman. He is survived by his sons Nick Spillman (Karen), and Chris Spillman (Christina) of King George; seven grandchildren Troy, Linsey, Natalie, Aubrey, Savannah, Adeline, and Morgan all of King George; three sisters Betty Jean Frank of King George, Sharon Marks and Cheryl Hicks both of South Carolina; and several uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members. He is also survived by his best friend Melissa Rollins of King George. Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Storke Funeral Home, King George, with a graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Historyland Memorial Park with military honors. As Charlie would have wanted, please come as you are formal attire not required. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
